Vertical face lifting affects the center of the face and is used to raise the apparent position of the cheekbones. The result looks perfectly natural because it is logical. It follows the reverse course of aging by returning the face to its original morphology.
Breast Lift
Breasts may sag due to a weakening of the gland and stretching of the surrounding skin. It may also result from breast hypertrophy, which will lower the position of the breast. Surgery is designed to restore the areola and breast to their proper position, to firm and lift the breast, and to tighten any excess skin so that both breasts are similar in shape and well proportioned.
The operation consists of remodeling the breast by altering the cutaneous envelope and the glandular tissue. The breast is concentrated and placed in an optimal position. Any excess skin is then removed to ensure that the breast maintains its new shape.
If there is significant sagging, the incision assumes the form of an upside-down “T.” Three incisions are made: one is made around the areola between the darker skin of the areola and the breast, a vertical incision is made between the lower part of the areola and the crease beneath the breast, and a horizontal incision is made in the breast crease itself. The length of the horizontal incision is proportional to the extent of sagging.
Breast implants
Breast augmentation consists in increasing the size of what are judged to be small breasts by the insertion of implants behind the mammary gland.
All the implants currently used consist of an envelope and a filler. The envelope is always made of elastic silicone (a silicone elastomer) and can be smooth or rough.
The only filler materials currently authorized in France are saline salt and silicone gel, which have been in use for nearly 40 years. The location of the incision, the position of the implant in relation to the muscle, and the type and size of the implant are determined when you consult with your doctor. The primary considerations are the patient’s anatomy and her personal expectations.
Cervico-facial lifting
Today, there are several types of lifting processes that can be used to improve any defects caused by aging of the face and neck. The process may be local or more extensive.
Cervico-facial lifts are the most frequent. This is a surgical procedure used to correct the effects of aging of the neck and face, from the temples to the jowls. The operation helps to alleviate weakening and relaxation of the skin and muscles of the face (temples and eyebrows, cheeks and jowls, facial contour) and neck.
The goal of the operation is not to alter the form and appearance of the face. On the contrary, simple restoration of the various anatomical structures of the face and neck (skin, muscle, fat) can restore your appearance to what it was previously. Muscle tension is restored to correct any unwanted relaxation. The skin is then reshaped along new contours, at your request, avoiding excess tension. In this way the face and neck are said to be «reconstructed.»
